About the Doctor
Dr. Dennis Carreras earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry. His Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry was received from Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Carreras completed his Hospital Residency at Hurley Medical Center and Mott Children’s Health Center in Flint, Michigan. Prior to moving to St. Cloud in 1997, Dr. Carreras worked seven years as a United States Air Force Pediatric Dentist, serving in Japan and Germany. He distinguished himself in the Air Force by serving as pediatric dental consultant to the Regional Command Dental Surgeon, both in Europe and the Pacific. He also published articles in the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In recent years, he served as the president of the West Central District Dental Society, and is a member of the Minnesota Dental Association’s Public Relations Committee. He is presently a member of the Craniofacial Board in St. Cloud.
Dr. Carreras has achieved the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is a pediatric dentist who has successfully completed voluntary examinations and who demonstrates unique knowledge and skill at a standard not usually possessed by other dentists.
Dr. Carreras has lectured internationally at the Tohuku Dental Society, Tri-Service Dental Society of Japan and at the 38th Parallel Dental Society in Seoul, Korea. He was born in New York City and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
In his spare time, Dr. Carreras volunteers with Give Kids a Smile. He enjoys baseball, basketball, fishing, arts and music.
